This July,(from 8:45 a.m. – 5 p.m., in Aule A301, A305, A306, A308), the Polis Institute of Jerusalem will be holding intensive language courses in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew, as well as a methodology course for professors at the university.
Classes are taught in Latin, Greek, or Hebrew, thus making the language studied the only means of communication within the classroom.
 
For Santa Croce students, credits earned may be recognized by their respective deans after applying them as credits that go toward their Licenza.
 
Effective October 1, 2023, the Grand Chancellor of the University, Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz – after confirmation obtained from the Dicastery for Culture and Education – appointed the following professors for the next four years, from 2024 to 2028: - rev. prof. Fernando Puig, Dean of the School of Canon Law - rev. prof. Francisco Fernández Labastida, Dean of the School of Philosophy and confirmed for an additional term Prof. Daniel Arasa, Dean of the School of Social Institutional Communications. On June 27, 2023, rev. Antonio Pinzello, a priest of the Prelature of Opus Dei, who was born in Palermo in 1945 and was the first student to ever enroll at our university, then the Roman Academic Center of the Holy Cross, passed away.
In June 1985, he defended his doctoral thesis in theology entitled The Presence of Christ in the Eucharist in the Light of the Contemporary Magisterium.
From 1985 to 1988, he also served as Secretary General.
 
The Santa Croce academic community offers prayers of suffrage for his soul.

Friday, June 23, 2023 (at 11:30 a.m., in the Aula Magna), the university held the Welcome to... Alumni Santa Croce event for who have finished their studies this academic year. Following the initial meeting in the Aula Magna, was celebrated a Mass in the Basilica of St. Apollinare, followed by a lunch in the courtyard.  
This week, the degree examinations of the Baccalaureate and Licensure Courses of the various schools are taking place, as well as ceremonies to bid farewell to the students finishing their studies.

On Saturday, June 17, 2023, the Italian Promotion & Development Office hosted an evening fundraising event entitled, "Together...Under the Roman Sky," which will offer scholarships for the formation of seminarians and priests studying at our university. On Thursday, June 15, 2023, the School of Philosophy honored the academic contribution of Prof. Ignacio Yarza, current dean, as he becomes a professor emeritus. The event was held in Álvaro del Portillo Lecture Hall, at 3:15 p.m., with several faculty members sharing anecdotes about the faculty over the years.   Invitation Card
On Monday, June 5, 2023, Rev. Prof. Philip Goyret, current Dean of the School of Theology, was elected President of the Committee of Deans and Principals of the Roman Theological Faculties. He took over Rev. Prof. Pietro Angelo Muroni’s position, who is the Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Full Professor at the Pontifical Urban University. The committee, which is a part of the Conference of Rectors of Roman Pontifical Universities and Institutions (CRUIPRO), is made up of the deans (“decani”) of the faculties and the principals (“presidi”) of the institutes where theology or related subjects are taught. Currently, the committee is comprised of 19 academic institutions.
