On Thursday, June 15, 2023, the School of Philosophy honored the academic contribution of Prof. Ignacio Yarza, current dean, as he becomes a professor emeritus. The event was held in Álvaro del Portillo Lecture Hall, at 3:15 p.m., with several faculty members sharing anecdotes about the faculty over the years.   Invitation Card
On Monday, June 5, 2023, Rev. Prof. Philip Goyret, current Dean of the School of Theology, was elected President of the Committee of Deans and Principals of the Roman Theological Faculties. He took over Rev. Prof. Pietro Angelo Muroni’s position, who is the Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Full Professor at the Pontifical Urban University. The committee, which is a part of the Conference of Rectors of Roman Pontifical Universities and Institutions (CRUIPRO), is made up of the deans (“decani”) of the faculties and the principals (“presidi”) of the institutes where theology or related subjects are taught. Currently, the committee is comprised of 19 academic institutions.
 
On Monday, June 5, 2023, (5 p.m. in the Aula Magna Giovanni Paolo II) the book My Years with John Paul II - Personal Notes by Joaquín Navarro-Valls, Director of the Holy See Press Office for more than two decades, was presented.
Written as a diary and published at the author's behest after his death, the volume offers not only an interesting glimpse into the behind-the-scenes work of the Holy See, but also reveals some of the great problems humanity has ever faced, which deeply concerned the Holy Father. The book, above all, provides valuable details of the pope's daily life.
Following a Call for Projects, launched in July 2022, to gather proposals related to the university’s academic development, the first research projects for the coming academic years have recently been selected. Each proposal was analyzed and evaluated by a scientific committee, made up of our own professors and professors from other universities, according to qualitative and quantitative criteria.
