Friday, June 21, 2024 (11:00 AM, Aula Magna "Giovanni Paolo II"), the usual event "Welcome to... Alumni Santa Croce 2024" took place for those who have completed their studies at our University during this academic year.
The meeting featured a guest speaker, one of our alumni from the School of Theology (PhD 2015), Father Alberto Giardina, currently the Director of the National Liturgical Office of the Italian Episcopal Conference.
Following the meeting, a Holy Mass was celebrated in the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare. The day concluded with a convivial gathering in the courtyard.
The event was also available for streaming.
The concluding ceremonies for the respective School courses are taking place these days, with the awarding of certificates to students completing their study cycles.

From June 17 to 21, 2024, the MCE (Markets, Culture & Ethics) Research Center will host the International Workshop Transparency and Accountability in the Catholic Church - A Practical Journey. This event is organized in collaboration with the John A. Ryan Institute of St. Thomas University, St. Mary's University in Twickenham, London, and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
The goal of the workshop is to provide Catholic Church leaders with practical insights to implement transparency within their organizations or areas of influence. The main objectives include:

Equipping leaders with the tools and strategies necessary
On Thursday, June 13, 2024 (at 3:00 PM - Álvaro del Portillo Hall), the academic ceremony in honor of prof. Giorgio Faro took place on the occasion of his leave from the School of Philosophy.
Moderated by prof. Labastida, prof. Cito and prof. Rodríguez Luño participated. Prof. Faro delivered a Lectio Brevis on Nietzsche and the Aristocrats of Labor.
Applications are now open for the De Lubac Award, 2025 edition, promoted by the French Embassy to the Holy See through the French Institute - Centre Saint-Louis and aimed at students of Pontifical Universities, as well as universities and institutions in Rome.
The call for applications is active until July 19, 2024. It is reserved for doctoral students who have successfully defended a thesis between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
The research fields of interest encompass all disciplines mentioned in the apostolic constitution Veritatis gaudium on Universities and Ecclesiastical Faculties of December 8, 2017 (Article 70 of the Common Norms).
On Saturday, June 8, 2024, starting at 7:30 PM, the Office for Promotion & Development Italy organized the annual fundraising evening for scholarships to be awarded to priest students and seminarians attending our University.
This year's program included a concert by Maestro Olga Zdorenko inside the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare.
Following the concert, dinner took place on the terrace of the Palazzo dell'Apollinare.
Volume 9, Issue 1 (2024) of the scientific journal Church, Communication and Culture from the School of Communication is available.
Various topics are addressed, from the decoding of Christian iconography to the analysis of papal messages on the World Day of Peace. Two case studies are proposed, focusing on the management of dissent by Communication offices.

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024 (3:30 PM, Benedict XVI Hall), OMNES Magazine and the CASE Group active at the Faculty of Canon Law have organized a meeting with the President of the IOR, Jean-Baptiste Douville de Franssu, titled Transparency and Co-responsibility in the Support of the Church.
The event was held in English and aimed to highlight the work carried out by the Institute for the Works of Religion in favor of transparent and proactive management, as well as its main lines of action.

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, our Rector Luis Navarro and Dr. Massimo Aureli, the educational director of the Dante Alighieri Society, signed the agreement between the two institutions for the organization and delivery of Intensive Italian Courses for Santa Croce students, the PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) certification exams, and other courses held at the SDA headquarters.
