The Grand Chancellor of the University, Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz, has appointed Reverend Professor Giovanni Zaccaria as Vice-Rector for the 2024-2028 term, replacing Reverend Professor Davide Cito.

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the University hosted a group of journalism students and faculty from Brigham Young University, one of the largest private Christian universities in the United States, who are participating in a study abroad program titled "Global Faith, Identity and Media Study." They were welcomed by prof. Daniel Arasa, Dean of the School of Communication, who gave an introductory lecture about our University and then explained some of the most important topics in communication within the Church.  
Lima Conference Sustainability and Integral Ecology
The "Sustainability and Integral Ecology in Business and Law" conference will take place at the University of Piura in Lima, Peru on July 1-2, 2025. In honor of the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’s ecological encyclical Laudato Si': On Care for the Common Home, we wish to study the implications of “integral ecology” on business and law. This encyclical introduced the term "integral ecology" into official Catholic social teaching, calling for an awareness of the interconnectedness between humans and nature. A new MOOC (free online course) offered by the School of Communication on Storytelling has been launched on the Discere platform. The course will be available until December 15, 2024. Led by Professor Juan Narbona, who teaches Value Storytelling at the same School of Communication, the course is accessible in Spanish, English, and Italian. Through 12 video lessons, each lasting 3-4 minutes, the importance and power of stories and how to use them in communication are explained. It was conceived, founded, and then directed by Prof. Giuseppe Tanzella-Nitti, a professor of Fundamental Theology at Santa Croce. The domain registration took place on July 21, 1999, initiated by Dr. Michele Crudele, who is now the Advisor for IT Services and was formerly the Director of the ELIS Center in Rome. From Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 26th, 2024, the Polis Institute of Jerusalem will organize intensive Language Courses in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew at our University, along with a 10-day Methodology Seminar for professors of classical languages who wish to learn teaching principles through the Polis method. The lessons are conducted directly in Latin, Greek, or Hebrew, making the studied language the sole means of communication within the classroom. For students of Santa Croce, the acquired credits can be recognized as credits towards their Licentiate degree upon request to their respective deans.
