Award ceremony for 25 years of service and commemoration of the University's 40th anniversary
Friday, December 13, 2024, saw the traditional ceremony for the awarding of silver medals to those who have completed 25 years of service at the University, in the presence of the Vice Grand Chancellor, Monsignor Mariano Fazio, and the Rector, Fernando Puig.
The medals, bearing the embossed effigy of the first Grand Chancellor and founder of the University, Blessed Álvaro del Portillo, were awarded this year to Professors José Antonio Araña (Canon Law), Daniel Arasa (Communication), Graziano Borgonovo (Theology), Marc Carroggio (Communication), and Dr. Loretta Sanna from the Publications Office.
In the second part of the event, a commemorative moment for the 40th anniversary of the University was held, and a small gift was presented to a representation of those who have worked at the Santa Croce since the early years. This was a crystal plaque with the 40th anniversary logo and the words spoken by Blessed Álvaro del Portillo at the first inaugural Mass of the then Roman Academic Center of the Holy Cross, on October 15, 1984: "You are the pioneers of a stupendous human and supernatural adventure that will have an enormous impact over the years ".
For the occasion, the Communication Services also set up a photographic exhibition retracing the most significant milestones of these first forty years of the University.
