Published Volume 10 of Forum - Supplement to "Acta Philosophica"
The 10/2024 volume of Forum. Supplement to Acta Philosophica has been published, featuring some of the most significant presentations from the conference on the theme The Concept of Ius in Thomas Aquinas. This publication follows only a few months after the previous volume.
The first section includes contributions from the seminar series Intelligence and the Person: In Dialogue with Some Masters of the 20th Century, which presented two key figures of Italian philosophy, Luigi Stefanini (1891-1956) and Luigi Pareyson (1918-1991). The essays outline their thought (A. Acerbi on Stefanini, C. Ciancio on Pareyson) and delve into specific aspects, such as the theory of the person (G. Pintus on Stefanini) and aesthetics (S. Oliva on Pareyson).
The second section, The Impact of Music: Anthropology, Phenomenology, and Relationship, includes contributions from R. Jiménez Cataño and C. Franchini, focusing on the hermeneutic and personal dimension of the musical experience.
The Studies and Seminars section offers contributions by H.B. Gerl-Falkovitz, rethinking male and female human beings based on Edith Stein’s anthropology; S.L. Brock on Aquinas' reading of Duns Scotus’ theory of individuation; F. Russo presenting an anthropological perspective on the issue of death; C. Baracchi reflecting, starting from Aristotle, on philosophy as a teacher of life; and V. Ascheri offering a concise presentation of M. Polanyi, scientist and philosopher.
Lastly, the Itineraries section, a study of classical works, presents G. Samek Ludovici’s continuation of his study on the morality of war in Thomas Aquinas, now addressing criticism of some of Aquinas' theses.
