Protection of Minors, at Santa Croce a Session of the Course "Safe Ecclesial Environments"

A training course promoted by the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors is taking place in Rome for the second consecutive year. It is aimed at Bishops, Presidents, and Directors of Caritas in Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on the theme of Safe Church Environments. For Caritas, the implementation of this course is essential to fostering a safe environment in all its activities.
One of the sessions was hosted on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. The event is part of the Collaboration Agreement signed on February 7, 2024, between the University and the PCTM.
Prof. Jordi Pujol, from the School of Communication, discussed Crisis Communication by analyzing a specific case study.
Among other topics covered in the course were the identification and prevention of abuse, reporting and response procedures, the development of policies, protocols, and best practices, continuous training and capacity building, and communication aspects in cases of sexual abuse.
On the morning of Wednesday, January 15, the participants were received in an Audience by Pope Francis.
