
Collaboration agreement with the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy to access the Library's resources
On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the headquarters of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, a Collaboration Agreement was signed between the Academy and our University.
Hosting the event was Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, President of the Academy and co-signatory of the Agreement, along with the Rector of Santa Croce, Fernando Puig, who was accompanied by the Dean of the School of Canon Law, Thierry Sol.
The agreement—initially set for a renewable five-year period—allows Academy students to remotely access the bibliographic resources of our Library for consultation purposes from their own location.

From March 6th to 8th, 2025 (9:00 AM, Álvaro del Portillo Hall), the School of Philosophy and the Research Group For a Culture of Care: A Response to the Anthropological Crisis organized the 25th International Conference titled Perspectives on Altruism: Empathy, Compassion, Care. The initiative aimed to explore—both theoretically and practically—the theme of altruism as an essential bond between the self and the other, and as a distinctive characteristic of humanity.

From March 10th to 13th, 2025 (from 3 PM to 5:30 PM in Room A301), as part of the Licentiate in Biblical Theology, the course Holiness in Scripture will be held in English by Prof. Scott Hahn, Professor of Biblical Theology and New Evangelization at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio (USA). An apologist of international renown, Hahn is also the author of numerous bestsellers.
It is possible to register until February 7th. Students from institutions participating in the Cruipro Agreement will be able to access the course for free.

Our Library has adopted the OpenAthens software, a single sign-on authentication system that allows access to databases and electronic journals (available by subscription within the catalog), both from the internal network and remotely.
When accessing the requested resource, an authentication page (username + password) will appear, where users must enter their University service credentials.
Following the activation of Digital Library 2.0, all electronic resources can now be accessed by University members from anywhere.

On March 31 and April 1, 2025 (8:45 AM, Aula Magna "Giovanni Paolo II"), the 29th Study Conference of the School of Canon Law will take place, focusing on the theme Divine Law in Ecclesial Law: The Concept of Law and Canonical Practice.
The conference aims to explore the topic of divine law in the Church. Rector Fernando Puig and the academic community of our University join in the collective prayer for the health and speedy recovery of His Holiness Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized for several days at the "Agostino Gemelli" Polyclinic in Rome.
They implore the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Salus Populi Romani, over His Holiness.

On Thursday, February 27, 2025 (9:15 AM - 6:15 PM, Álvaro del Portillo Hall), the Center for Legal Studies on the Family, based at the School of Canon Law, organized the 7th Interdisciplinary Study Day on Legal Anthropology of the Family, titled Fidelity in Family Relationships: Between Love and Justice.
An interdisciplinary reflection that involved biblical, anthropological, psychological, and legal aspects.

Wednesday, February 26, 2025 (9:00 AM, Álvaro del Portillo Hall), the Institute of Liturgy organized a study day titled Liturgy and Work.
Three presentations were scheduled:
Work as a Form of Liturgical Life was presented by Prof. Stefan Geiger, OSB, from the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of Sant’Anselmo.
Prof. Randifer Boquiren from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross discussed The Eucharistic Dynamism of Sanctification.
Prof. Pietro Angelo Muroni, from the Pontifical Urban University, addressed the topic Opus Hominis in the Opus Dei.

The Christianity and Society Center, integrated in the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Rome) and the Confederation of Businessmen Coparmex (Mexico), are proposing a congress entitled “Common Memory and Collective Forgiveness”. The activity is sponsored by the Dicastery for Evangelization (Holy See) and will take place within the framework of the Jubilee activities for entrepreneurs in Rome, on May 6 and 7, 2025.
