From January 28 to February 14, 2025, on the initiative of the School of Communication, the ISCOM Association, and AIGAV, the 11th Edition of the Specialization Course in Religious Information will take place: Current Journalistic Issues on the Catholic Church.
The program will consist of 12 sessions—including meetings and visits—with academics, members of the Curia, experts in ecclesiastical matters, and Vatican journalists.
Special attention will be given to journalistic needs, presenting topics through the most relevant information and data, examining and comparing diverse perspectives, and sharing key documentary and bibliographic references.

Starting on February 20, 2025, every Thursday from 3:30 PM to 5:15 PM, the XII edition of the Course for Seminary Trainers will commence. It is aimed at priest-students in Rome who will, in the future, serve in the formation and guidance of candidates for the priesthood.
The Course aims to contribute to the preparation of trainers for diocesan seminaries, to train for the ministry of spiritual accompaniment and discernment, to learn how to provide formation for freedom, to understand the processes of seminarians’ maturation, and to develop attentiveness to the seminary environment.

The academic community mourns the passing of Prof. Álvaro Granados, former lecturer in Pastoral Theology, Sacramental Theology, and, for several years, Secretary of the ISSR at the Apollinare, who passed away today, Friday, January 24, 2025, after a long battle with illness.
"His kindness and patience throughout his illness will remain a profound example of great faith and hope for the entire academic community," said the University’s Rector, Rev. Prof. Fernando Puig. From January 22nd to 24th, 2025 (starting at 12:45 PM, in the Aula Magna Giovanni Paolo II), the 14th Professional Seminar on Church Communication Offices takes place. The theme of this year's seminar is "Communication and Evangelization: Context, Attitudes, and Experiences."
This biennial initiative, organized by the School of Institutional Communication, is aimed at ecclesiastical communicators from dioceses and other ecclesiastical jurisdictions, episcopal conferences, congregations or institutes of consecrated life, movements, and other entities linked to the Church, as well as communication and media professionals, and journalists covering religious news.

For this year as well, on Friday, January 17, 2025, the School of Communication welcomed a group of students from the Missouri School of Journalism at Missouri University.
The Roman stop is part of their Europe Tour 2025, which includes visits to other European cities such as Brussels, Prague, and Barcelona.
The group was welcomed by the Dean of the School of Communication, Daniel Arasa, who held an introductory session about the University.
Following this, there was a meeting with Vatican News journalist Deborah Castellano Lubov and another session on storytelling in the digital world, led by Prof. Juan Narbona.

The French Embassy to the Holy See and the Pious Institutes of France in Rome and Loreto are offering, once again this year, 50 scholarships for studying the French language to students of universities, academies, and pontifical institutes.
