On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of our University, the Academic Community, in its various expressions, expressed the desire to identify a new institutional motto that would adequately reflect the mission and vision of the Holy Cross. In May 2024, several proposals were presented within the Academic Senate. Subsequently, in a spirit of openness, all teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as students, were invited to express their preference through a digital form. It is aimed at Bishops, Presidents, and Directors of Caritas in Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on the theme of Safe Church Environments. The School of Theology offers courses for the “core” subjects necessary for the Teaching of Catholic Religion (IRC): Pedagogy and Didactics, Teaching Methodology, Theory of School and School Legislation, Internship. The courses are delivered in a complex learning format (in-person, online, personal study). The scheduled dates for 2025 are: February 14–15, April 25–26, May 16–17, June 13–14. On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the School of Canon Law celebrated its patron saint, Saint Raymond of Penyafort, with a Jubilee pilgrimage to the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. Following this, the group visited the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints. Students and professors were welcomed by the Prefect of the Dicastery, Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, and the Secretary, Archbishop Fabio Fabene.

From January 28 to February 14, 2025, on the initiative of the School of Communication, the ISCOM Association, and AIGAV, the 11th Edition of the Specialization Course in Religious Information will take place: Current Journalistic Issues on the Catholic Church. The program will consist of 12 sessions—including meetings and visits—with academics, members of the Curia, experts in ecclesiastical matters, and Vatican journalists. From February 18 to April 8, 2025, the first edition of the Course on the Pastoral Care of Forgiveness will be held, aimed at offering practical support to strengthen the ongoing formation of priests as ministers of mercy.
The course will take place on Tuesday afternoons, from 3:00 PM to 4:40 PM, and the methodology will be predominantly practical, following the case-study approach. Professors will send two cases prior to each session so that participants can read them in advance and actively engage in the discussion and resolution process.
