Management for Ecclesiastics. Pastoral Instruction for the Church’s Resources. MCE Research Centre’s new course is designed for those students who will be responsible for managing the Church’s goods, which—as canon law and Pope Francis himself attest—must be administered with the diligence of a good householder (cfr. canon 1284). The course, taught by prof. Jesús Miñambres (Dean of the Canon Law Faculty at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross) and Dr. Angelo Paletta, aims to analyze the organizational functioning and management of parishes, dioceses, and the curia, and to examine the principal juridical, economic, and financial aspects.
At the end of the course students will have a greater understanding of the organizational sturctures and models of governance, the basics of drafting and reading a budget, and knowledge of of strateging planning and programming techniques for creating a business plan.
The course will be taught in Italian and take place in March and April 2017, with six two-hour sessions. Management for Ecclesiastics. Pastoral Instruction for the Church’s Resources allows theology, canon law, and doctoral communications students of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross to obtain 1 ECTS by attending the course and completing the assignment at the end of the program.
