“Safe Church Environments”, at Santa Croce a training session promoted by the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors
In Rome, a training course promoted by the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors is currently taking place, aimed at bishops, presidents, and directors of Caritas Latin America and the Caribbean on the topic of Safe Church Environments.
One of the sessions of the course, scheduled until March 1st, was held on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, at the Pontifical University of Santa Croce. This activity is part of the collaboration agreement signed on February 7th between the University and the PCTM.
Leading the proceedings was Professor Jordi Pujol from the Faculty of Communication, who analyzed the importance of transparent communication within ecclesiastical institutions, using the case of Caritas Central Africa as an example.
Among other topics addressed in the course were reporting procedures and appropriate responses to abuse situations, the development of policies and safeguarding measures within Caritas, good practices, and successful experiences in implementing protection programs.
