World Africa Day with Harambee, May 22nd
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024 (at 11:30 AM, Álvaro del Portillo Hall), in celebration of the annual World Africa Day, the School of Communication and Harambee Africa International have organized a conference titled "The Implications of the Mattei Plan for African Development."
The discussion was focused on the fundamental importance of education for the genuine and sustainable development of the continent. The event also wanted to examine how the Mattei Plan can alter the relationships between Italy and Africa, promoting shared growth that benefits both parties. It was an opportunity to explore how a collaborative approach can truly impact the development dynamics in Africa, discussing the opportunities and challenges that arise from it.
The meeting was characterized by the participation of H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Kombo, Ambassador of the Republic of Tanzania; Prof. Celestino Victor Mussomar, President of the Center for African Studies in Italy (CeSAI); Father Giulio Albanese, member of the Council of the Section for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See; and Dr. Carlo Papa, Managing Director of the Enel Foundation.
