Webinar "Escape and prison: the myth of the cave"
On November 8, the Markets, Culture and Ethics (MCE) research center hosted the webinar "Escape and prison: the myth of the cave", the first appointment of the webinar series Digital humanism. Speakers at the event Francesco Rullani (Director of the Bliss research center, Ca' Foscari University of Venice) and Mauro Bompadre (Project Manager, Interlogica). The meeting was moderated by Simone Budini (CeSID Project Leader, Luiss Business School) and Luca Mongelli (MCE Executive Director, IESE Marie Curie Fellow).
The myth of the Platonic cave offered the starting point to talk about the condition of imprisonment experienced during the lockdown, opening a reflection on the tool that, in those days, filled our days the most: digital. During the lockdown did digital allow us to escape or to inhabit our time? Does technology, now fully present in our lives, open us up to the world or close us in on ourselves? Starting from these questions we reflected on the potential and risks of digital and the changes that technology has brought about in our lives.
The webinar series Digital humanism is organized in partnership with Venture Thinking, Interlogica, CeSID - Competence Center on Sustainability, Innovation, Digitalization of Luiss Business School, the Center for Business in Society of IESE Business School and Humanistic Management.
