Forthcoming Events

On March 21, 2024, a new "Santa Croce Incontra" event took place, an internal communication activity aimed at school, students, and administrative staff: initiatives and proposals of the Santa Croce Alumni community were presented, to which all those who have studied at our University belong. Since January 2023, previous "Incontra" events have focused on the ISSR at the Apollinare, the Library, and the Learn Rome project.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024 (from 9 am to 6:30 pm, in the Aula Magna Giovanni Paolo II), the "Centro di studi Giuridici sulla Famiglia", operating at the School of Canon Law, organized the 6th Interdisciplinary Study Day on Legal Anthropology of the Family, entitled Anthropology of the Family and Work: From the Search for Balance to the Discovery of Complementarity. On Saturday, March 9, 2024 (at 4:00 PM, Álvaro del Portillo Hall), the "liber amicorum" dedicated to Prof. Johannes Grohe on the occasion of his 70th birthday was presented.
The text was written with contributions from friends, colleagues from Santa Croce, the Society for Historical Research of Councils, and the RIGG (Roman Institute of the Görres Society), of which the professor is Vice Director. Prof. Grohe will return to Germany in the fall, after 27 years of teaching Medieval Church History at our University.
On the 7th and 8th of March 2024, the University of the Holy Cross hosted the Interuniversity International Conference Women in the Church: Architects of the Human, which took place both in person and online. The purpose of the initiative was to highlight the aspects in which the woman's role as an "architect" is manifested (education, spirituality, promotion of peace and dialogue, etc.) within the context of the universal Church. On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, the School of Theology celebrated the Academic Feast in honor of Saint Thomas Aquinas with a pilgrimage to Viterbo.
Approximately 170 people participated, including professors and students who were welcomed with a greeting from the Bishop of Viterbo, Orazio Francesco Piazza. After visiting the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the Papal Palace, Professor Philip Goyret, dean of the School, concelebrated Mass with 40 other priests.
