Second Edition of the Transparency and Accountability in the Catholic Church MCE Workshop Scheduled in Rome, July 2025
After the success of its first edition in June, 2024, the International Workshop "Transparency and Accountability in the Catholic Church: A Practical Journey" will return for a second edition in Rome from July 15-19, 2025. The workshop will provide Church leaders with practical strategies to enhance transparency, covering topics such as ethical, financial, and cultural transparency. It will also focus on fostering a culture of transparency and equipping leaders with the tools to implement change in their organizations.
The first workshop, held in Rome last June, gathered 31 prominent Church leaders, including a Cardinal, four Archbishops, ten Bishops, and several diocesan and religious administrators, who engaged in meaningful discussions and shared strategies for fostering transparency and accountability within the Church. Building on the insights and feedback from the inaugural event, the second edition aims to empower Church leaders by providing practical, actionable insights to help implement transparency in their organizations and areas of influence.
The workshop will cover specific strategies, including:
- Exploring Transparency from Every Angle. The workshop will offer a comprehensive approach, covering the ethical, financial, accounting, cultural, and communicative aspects of transparency.
- Championing a Culture of Transparency. One of the core goals is to equip leaders with the tools and strategies needed to create and sustain a culture of transparency in their respective domains.
- Providing a Practical 360-Degree Approach. This will not be a theoretical discussion. Rather, participants will embark on a hands-on, 360-degree journey, equipping them with a tailored action plan that they can use to implement meaningful change in their organizations.
"I think transparency is a step to successful leadership and accomplishment of the mission here in the Church. Whether you're communicating something very favorable or unfavorable, being open and authentic is key. Transparency around all that is fundamental to building trust and authenticity." — Chief Operations Officer at a Diocese in the USA.
