Call for Papers

 |

Introduction

Participants are invited to submit Papers to the Seminar.

Papers may follow the traditional format of academic papers or case studies, or they can be projects or reports that are deemed useful for the Church's communication offices and that deal with topics relevant to the theme of the Seminar.

An abstract, with a minimum length of 800 characters and a maximum of 1,500 (including spaces), must be received by March 19, 2023, by the Conference Secretariat. Submissions should be made exclusively through one's registration account.

The Secretariat will inform a few days after the proposal whether the abstract will be accepted.

Each communicator will have 25 minutes, which will be theoretically divided into 15 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions from the audience. If multimedia support (audio, video, etc.) is needed for the presentation, the Secretariat should be notified of it as soon as possible. Texts in Italian, English, French and Spanish are accepted.

Subject areas

1. Listening. Experiences of synodality. The role of the information office in the conversation within organizations. Listening to public opinion and social trends.

2. Polarization and Hate Speech. Cultural debate and social conflict. The battle of language. Dissent and public exclusion.

Requirements for the publication of Papers

A selection of the Papers presented during the Seminar will be published. The full text of the Papers (including notes) must not exceed 20,000 characters (including spaces).

The date for delivery of the final version is May 31, 2023.

The editing process will be facilitated if one of the two formats (the notes and bibliography system or the author-date system) allowed in the Chicago Manual of Style is followed in bibliographic references. If in doubt, consult http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html
